Iroko Driveway Gates in Bearminster

A customer contacted us looking to have a new pair of driveway gates made and installed, along with new gate posts. John went out to the property to meet with our customer Mr T, and discuss what sort of gates he’d like. After the visit, he decided to go for a pair of Iroko Dorset Gates with one extra metal rail at the bottom, with galvanised fittings and hung on two oak posts.

Iroko After Care

There is no need to stain your wood and recolour it, and with the durability and stability of Iroko, you don’t need to treat it that often either! It contains oils and resins that will protect it and make it resistant to absorbing moisture. We recommend cleaning your Iroko entrance gates and applying a protective finish periodically, but you’ll find that upkeep is much easier than with other timbers.

Iroko is much less prone to issues such as weather and temperature induced warping, decay and insect damage, which can sometimes be found in other timbers. This really minimises the risk of any issues arising or upkeep having to be done.
