As standard an Langdon Apex Shed has the door in the narrow end with the window in one of the long sides. As standard the Langdon Pent Shed has the door with the window alongside in the long side.

We don’t undertake repairs or maintain other companies’ products but would be happy to provide a quotation to replace old or damaged fences with our own fencing.

Timber posts come with sawn flat end tops as standard at John Bright Fencing. If you require them to be shaped with a dome or pyramid top this can be done in our workshop for a small charge.

We have a few options available. Our own fleet of vehicles can provide a local delivery service from our headquarters to many customers living in Dorset, Devon and Somerset. We can also offer delivery to UK addresses further away using Tufnell’s courier service. Please note that there can be some remote address exclusions for this service. Installation times can vary depending on the time of year, the size and level of complexity of the project and the type of fence being installed.

Estate fencing is suitable to use as an enclosure for all range of livestock.

Timber is a natural product, therefore we do expect a small amount of swelling and/or shrinkage – this is normal. This occurs with changes in the weather which  cause an increase or reduction of moisture in the timber. If we supplied and installed your gate within the last year we will happily come and adjust it for you. If we installed the gate over a year ago, there will be a small charge for us to visit. Creosote is a pale yellow liquid used as a timber treatment for agricultural use. Creosote is a fantastic treatment for timber but must be handled with care as it can damage skin and cause long lasting health problems.

Scandinavian Redwood is a softwood from Scandinavia used for sheds and gates, where a good clean finish is required.

A gravel board can also be known as a kick board or barge board. They are usually positioned underneath a fence panel to preserve the life of the fence. Timber, concrete or composite gravel boards are available from stock.

The timber goes into a tank of treatment, like a bath, ensuring the timber gets covered. This is then left to dry. Our products that are dip treated have a golden brown finish. If you have a dip treated lap panel we recommend retreating with a preserver after a couple of years to ensure product longevity.

Tanalising is the treatment process used on timber to protect against rot and decay. Timber goes into a tank of treatment and the pressure increased to force the treatment into the timber. The majority of our posts that are to be in ground contact are redwood timber, treated to UC4, for 15 year life expectancy.

Our Lap, Closeboard, Woven and Trellis fence panels are measured in feet because they are made in the west country using traditional methods. This was long before metric was introduced to the UK. Other panels are in metric, if you are replacing panels on existing posts always check the measurements!
