Coffee morning Friday 9th August 10 am – 12 noon

Come for coffee and help fund Julia’s House children’s hospices. Based in Dorset and Wiltshire, they provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition at home, in the community or at the hospices.

Mum with two children

Julia and Mike

Julia Perks was a dedicated children’s nurse who dreamed of a support network for families struggling to care for children with a life limiting condition. Julia’s House is named after Julia but it was her friend, Mike Wise who founded the charity. Julia sadly died of cancer before her dream became a reality but Mike, along with a small group of supporters, got the charity off the ground. Through tireless fundraising they eventually employed the first two community nurses and then built a dedicated Dorset hospice. Mike has since retired but remains life president.

A wonderful, much-loved local charity. Imagine what life would be like for families if Julia’s House didn’t exist. Martin Clunes OBE, Julia’s House Patron
