Happy Easter!

Easter is a time of celebration. Sunday 1 April marks Easter day when Christians believe Jesus rose from the dead. It’s also an occasion when eating chocolate, going on egg hunts and – fingers crossed – picking up on any sign spring is on its way is a MUST.

Easter begins on Good Friday 30 March and continues to Easter Monday 2 April. Easter day on Sunday 1 April this year also falls on April Fool’s day.

Eggsellent weather?

Everyone has an eye on the weather after struggling through the beast from the east and its mini me. Back in 1983 when Easter fell around the same time (1 to 3 April) it made the weather record books as the snowiest Easter with Scotland, the Midlands and Kent experiencing up to 10 cm.

In contrast, Easter on Saturday, 23 April 2011 had the mercury soaring to 27.8 °C at Wisley in Surrey.
