Our winning Melplash Show team

We’ve been at the Melplash Show for thirty years. We first had a stand back in 1987 when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister, hurricane force winds caused devastation across Britain, Sylvanian Families was the Christmas sell out toy and a future Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray was born.

It was also the year we launched John Bright Limited.

A lot has happened since then. But the constant in our local calendar has always been The Melplash Show. My dad, John is pictured here from 1989, a proud winner. In all those thirty years, we’ve won or been placed in the trade stand competition many times but yesterday’s award was very special.

It felt like coming full circle. Our 30^th appearance at Melplash marks years of support from loyal customers, endless hard work from our dedicated team and a pat on the back from the lovely Dorset community in which we live.

Grandma Janet was there busy behind the scenes as always, having made a bakery full of delicious cakes for everyone to enjoy.

We are a family firm and the Melplash Show is a truly family event. We thank them for honouring us, you for coming to see us and promise we’ll be there again next year.
